Hello,

My name is Edward Wolfe and I would like to welcome you to Restless Soul Studio. This is just a little website I created to display the photos I take as I travel the world. A Photo Journal, if you will. I have included a few stories about my travels on the site. Just double click a thumbnail to read a story.

I studied art in grade school and at a Greenville Technical College, Greenville, South Carolina. I did a lot of drawings, some painting and a few sculptures. I did pretty average work, but every once in awhile I would do something that seemed to get peoples attention. Needing a real job, I gravitated toward graphic arts as it applies to the printing industry. I had a fairly successful career working in Pre-press making other peoples projects print ready. As my career advanced I moved into management and then toward sales. Once I started to move away from the printing industry I started exploring my creative side again. What I quickly discovered was my drawing and painting skills had diminished. I like to think they would have returned if I stuck with it, but I no longer had the patience I once had. I still needed some kind of creative outlet and it seemed foolish to not use my graphics skills. I shifted focus, picked up a camera and starting using photos to capture and create.

Some of my pictures are straight up photography, some are photos manipulated with filters and some are photos manipulated using a technique that I developed over time. My technique stems from the drawing and painting training I received when I was younger and is accomplished in Photoshop.

I consider myself a good graphic artist and a fair photographer. As my photography skills grow I don't have to depend as much on my graphics skills, however I still think it is fun to manipulate photos. In the long run I just try to make pictures that are fun to look at. I really don't care how I get there. This seems to go against the rules of “true” photographers. Oh well. I hope you see something you enjoy. That is what it is all about.
